March is here! I only have 2 weeks to do the following:
Finish and turn in Design of Experiments class homework and final project
Finish and turn in Lake Washington floating bridge infrastructure paper (need to get in touch with WSDOT fast!)
Get a firm start on my research paper because my final quarter is Spring 2010.
Job search and send out those resumes. I only have one application so far.
I’m so far behind in all of this. It’s embarrassing. That doesn’t include stuff I’m doing at work. My illness kept me at home this week and I’m going into March with a bit of it. At least I don’t have to work on Capitol Hill anymore. I hope I don’t have work in the Renton Highlands because the commute sucks.
Then I’m off for two weeks in Thailand for family, friends, and myself. Can’t wait!
I set a rule for myself to not withdraw more than $40 in cash each week and not use my debit card except for special occasions and to not withdrawl more until the existing supply of cash has been spent. My credit card is put away at home. The goal is to limit spending to a maximum of $40 per week. In many cases I last more than a week on $40. I eat out less and spend less on unnecessary stuff. Not that I’m a very big spender to begin with.
Perhaps I can reduce the allowance but $40 is convenient at ATMs and they only dispense cash in $20 bills.
Since my sister got a new Dell notebook, she has moved to her new desk in her room. She vacated her old desk and PC in the living room. My brother took the PC for himself. I took over the space and cleaned it up. It was a big task. Why do areas around computers (and televisions) have to be magnets for clutter and dirt? The desk, space under and around it was a huge pile of stuff. Uncluttering it created a positive effect on everyone (our house is a cluttered and filthy mess). Now I sit here most of the time instead of my desk in my room, which has degenerated into a dump.
The second monitor is temporary. I put it away when I don’t need it.
It’s been raining on and off, light showers alternating with monsoon-like downpours, for the past few days and I like it. The clouds are moving north at a good pace. The lush green and moisture is why I like the Pacific Northwest.
