Puget Sound Frequent Transit Map

Excerpt from February 2010 edition showing downtown Seattle

This map (technically a diagram) is an abstract representation of bus routes in the Puget Sound region (Seattle, Tacoma, Everett) that run at least every 15 minutes during the day until at least 6:00 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 5:30 p.m. on Sundays and holidays. The portions of those routes that do not have all-day frequent service are shown as thinner lines for a more comprehensive network.

The maps are created based on information from King County Metro’s Service Frequency Table. They are published as 17×22 inch PDFs suitable for printing on any size paper.

The maps are usually updated following Metro’s service change schedule.

Change Log

February 2010

This is a major revision of the map that’ll incorporate many of the changes that’ll take place in the February service change to integrate Link light rail with Metro bus service. Swift BRT will also be included. The size has been changed from 8.5×11 inches to 17×22 inches and the style has significantly changed (no more neighborhood bubbles).

June 2009

The map is going through a change in style with new fonts and labels. The lines are being tidied up. Among other additions and corrections are:

  • Northgate P&R is closed. Route 66 and 67 terminates at Northgate TC.
  • Route 358 does not stop in Fremont. First stop across the bridge is at N 46th St.
  • New coverage of Snohomish and Pierce County
  • Map renamed to “Puget Sound Frequent Transit” as a result.
  • Radii of label bubbles significantly reduced.
  • Route label style adjusted (height reduced for labels, retained for terminal labels)
